Health

We always recommend you do your own thorough health check before your dog/cat comes into kennels. Please advise us of any medical conditions beforehand. We are happy to administer medication provided it can be given by a person who does not hold veterinary qualifications.  Please ensure that your dog/cat is regularly wormed and treated for fleas and done at least one week before coming into us – won’t don’t want extra guests staying with us!!

Please note we are unable to admit any dogs/cats without sight of a valid up to date vaccination certificate, unless your vet can authorise otherwise, and immunity must not run out during their stay.

Dogs MUST ALSO be vaccinated against kennel cough and cannot enter the kennels within 14 days of being vaccinated if not previously done or 72 hours if their booster has recently expired.

Cats cannot be boarded until 14 days after vaccination if not previously done or their booster has expired.

ID and Micro-chipping

All dogs must be fitted with a collar and ID tag when coming into kennels. Remember from 6th April 2016 the law states all dogs must now be micro-chipped. We will not be held responsible for any fines imposed if your dog is not micro-chipped.

Feeding

We always recommend you bring your own food for your dog/cat as a change of diet can give them an upset tummy. However, we do provide both a sensitive hypo-allergenic dry such as Skinners Chicken & Rice or Duck & Rice and Salmon & Rice Nature Diet meat if required for dogs and Whiskers or Felix dry and meat for cats.  For real fussy eaters we temp them with cooked chicken, tuna, rice & pasta.

Bedding

As previously mentioned, if required, we provide all bedding to suit your dog’s needs – various sizes of plastic beds, vet bedding, raised beds, large cushions and duvets.  You are most welcome to bring your own so it smells of home and all kennels are large enough to fit in cages too.

Toys

You are welcome to bring your pets own toys – however, we are sometimes unable to return them in the same condition they arrived as other dogs sometimes steal them and play with them!  We have our own toys too.

Daily Care

We check all dogs first thing in the morning and last thing at night to ensure they are happy and we have no concerns.

Whilst each dog is out in the gravel area or out exercising another member of staff will vacuum their kennel, check bedding and refresh their water. They get a big cuddle when they come back in too!
